"I'd like to think I'd make a whole new set of mistakes," he says, "I have been in command before."

"We likely all would," he tells him quietly. "I'm not certain I'd want that on my head."

"I wouldn't want it. But if I had to..." He trails off. "The deal I made, why I'm here, is to save the soldiers who are under my command, back home. It'd be just another sacrifice."

He can see where they might have something in common, both having men under their command who (he assumes) are as good as dead.

"I'm going to bring her back around," he says quietly. "Take one last look."

The assumption is correct. The Ghosts are stuck at the ass-end of a world, under-supplied and one good enemy attack away from being annihilated.

"All right. It's nice, to look at the ocean like this. Peaceful."

"It can be peaceful. This is a particularly lovely simulation."

The ship slowly begins to turn, back towards the dock and the Enclosure door.

"Do you have any others you like?" He mostly brings up simulations of Tanith or other planets he's been on.

"I don't come here very often, save to see the water," he admits. "This is my second time."

[major_rawne]

"I've been coming here more often now that I'm a warden," he says, "if you want to come here again while we're paired, just let me know. I'll let you in."

He gives him a nod of thanks, hand on the helm as he brings the ship back around. "I'd call for you to weigh anchor, but it takes a crew. Let's just be quick and hop onto the dock."

"I can manage that, I believe." It doesn't seem that hard.

Crozier's thinking is that if he, an old man, can jump off a ship safely, then this young man can certainly do it. He stands at the rail and takes a leap when the dock gets close, grunting as he lands but otherwise feeling alright.

[major_rawne]

Rawne jumps down after him, landing easily. One knee twinges for a moment, but he straightens and starts back down the dock.

Crozier starts for the door of the Enclosure.

As they walk, Rawne asks, "How have you been finding the Barge, so far?"
